Min Pay means the statement minimum, not a plan to clear the card. Paying it on time can keep that period current, but interest is usually taken first, so the principal may fall only a little. That is the usual one-month result.

Hong Kong credit card tips:Some Hong Kong credit cards charge APR over 30%. The minimum repayment is usually 1%–3% of the balance or a fixed amount, whichever is higher. Paying only the minimum for a long time lets interest pile up, so set a repayment plan or consider a low-interest consolidation loan.
What credit-card Min Pay means: one month first, then payoff time
Credit-card Min Pay is the statement minimum, not a payoff plan. Paying it on time can keep that period from being treated as overdue, but the unpaid balance still accrues interest under the statement terms. Issuers use different percentages, fixed floors and treatments of interest or fees. Use the formula on your own statement; do not copy another card.
The usual result after one month of Min Pay is that most of the payment goes to interest and the principal falls only a little. This page splits the payment into interest and principal, then shows the ending balance. New purchases may also lose their interest-free period if the statement is not paid in full. Paying only Min Pay while trying to clear card debt can keep the account current without reducing the balance quickly.
Then compare the first-year balance, payoff month and total interest. A percentage minimum can fall as the balance falls, stretching the payoff. The model converts the entered effective APR to an equivalent monthly planning rate; issuer daily accrual, fees and rounding can differ. The statement remains authoritative.
Enter the APR printed on the statement. This page does not invent a single Hong Kong monthly card-interest table. A balance transfer is only cheaper if the full cost is lower: compare APR, fees, total repayment, term and early-settlement terms, and avoid rebuilding debt on the old cards.
