Property indices, inflation, interest-rate references and statutory thresholds are kept separate from user assumptions. Every displayed update is reviewed before it becomes an approved calculator input.
Market snapshots
Observation dates differ because each agency publishes on its own timetable. A market index is not a forecast, and HIBOR is not the mortgage rate offered to an individual borrower.

As at 2026-07-27. H-mortgage pricing also depends on the bank's margin, cap and approval terms.
Statutory thresholds
These are current reference amounts, not automatic entitlements. Eligibility and the final assessment still depend on personal circumstances and the responsible authority.
Year of assessment 2026/27
Below the minimum income, the employee generally does not make a mandatory contribution, but the employer still contributes. Special rules apply to self-employed people and non-monthly payroll periods.

Effective dates matter. Residential stamp duty changed on 26 February 2026, while MPF offsetting was abolished from the 1 May 2025 transition date.

Intermediate transition bands use marginal formulas. The mortgage calculator applies the full approved table rather than interpolating between the examples above.

For employment spanning the transition date, pre- and post-transition service must be separated. Eligibility also depends on the reason for termination and service conditions.

Review trail
Automated checks compare official data with the approved snapshot. A difference opens a proposed change for review; it does not silently alter calculator results.
Completed statutory data review: confirmed 2026/27 salaries-tax allowances (basic HK$145,000), Old Age Living Allowance (HK$4,345), stamp duty 6.5% top tier, MPF offsetting abolition, and 70% standard mortgage LTV (HKMA 50% DSR ceiling) are all current and verified.
Added Old Age Living Allowance payment, income and asset limits effective 1 February 2026, with age, residence and conflicting-benefit checks.
Updated the June 2026 residential price and rental indices and rechecked 2026/27 tax, MPF, employment, residential stamp duty, mortgage LTV and mortgage-insurance premium rules. The HKMA daily feed was unavailable, so the rate snapshot remains explicitly dated 27 July 2026.
Launched the Hong Kong Financial Data Centre and checked June 2026 inflation, Base Rate and HIBOR on 27 July, May 2026 residential price and rental indices, and key statutory thresholds.
Reviewed 2026/27 salaries-tax allowances, residential stamp duty, MPF and employment-entitlement data.
